CANOPY INTELLIGENCE

Retail

Turn footfall, dwell and queues into revenue.

Canopy counts entrances from existing cameras and joins the counts to POS transactions. The result is a conversion number by hour, by store, by category.

What we measure

Footfall

Directional counting at entrances, by hour and by zone. Tie it to POS and you have conversion, the metric every retailer actually cares about.

Zone dwell

How long customers spend in each category. Highlights which displays are working and which are being walked past.

Queue and checkout wait

Real-time queue length at every till. Opens an extra lane before the queue spills into the aisle.

Conversion metric

Conversion = transactions ÷ footfall. With edge inference it becomes a number you can see every hour, by store, by category.

Privacy

We do not identify shoppers. We do not cross-reference loyalty cards against in-store movement. We do not track an individual across a shopping centre. The edge discards frames; the event stream is counts.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the footfall counting?
We calibrate every installation against a manual count during a two-hour window. Typical accuracy is within ±3% of a manual audit. Counts are directional — we know who entered vs exited, not who they are.
Can we see conversion by store?
Yes. We join footfall events to your POS data (Lightspeed, Square, Shopify, MYOB) in the console. Conversion = transactions ÷ footfall, by hour, by store, by category.
Do we need to re-cable the store?
No. We use existing entrance cameras. The Edge Unit sits in the stockroom or equipment room. Most retail deployments take less than a day of on-site work per store.
What data leaves the store?
Counts, zone IDs and timestamps. The edge discards frames; no shopper is identified, and no loyalty data is joined.
